We walk in the heel of Italy between Lecce and Matera. The walking is 2 Goats. The terrain is mostly gentle and there are minimal ascents and descents. The pace is relaxed and there will be lots of stops and visits along the way as you discover Puglia and this unique area rich with history and culture.

Walking Grade: 2 Goats – prepare for full days out rich in cultural experiences which form part of your daily walks. We will have plenty of comfort breaks. The distance is approx 70 km going from south to north.
Highlights:
- The rich cultural experiences of the UNESCO heritage sites
- Staying in a Trullo in Alberobello and a Sassi (cave Hotel) in Matera
- Varied walking – along the coast, through olive groves, ravines and forests
- Experience of local produce with tastings and some bread making.
Base: We stay in four very special traditional hotels of the area as we walk to different locations to give you the best experience of this region. All our hotels are 3 or 4 stars.

Arrival: MEET UP IS AT 18.00 at Hotel Palazzo Bignami for the welcome with your guide and an evening meal together.
We will do a group transfer from Brindisi Airport to Lecce between 15.00 and 16.00 – it is the closest airport at only 20 minutes away.
We can arrange taxi’s for any arrivals at an extra costs of 48 euros from Brindisi and 109 euros from Bari ( 2 hours away) We connect women to travel together wherever possible. We will organise this for you.
Getting there: It is possible to travel from the UK by train going via Paris to Rome and on to Naples and onwards to Bari – if you have time. Last year someone enjoyed her journey from Naples to Lecce by FlixBus. Otherwise, the main airport is Bari or you can fly to the nearer airport of Brindisi.
Departure: Group transfer to Brindisi Airport leaves after breakfast at 11am to get you to the airport 11.30am. We recommend booking flights after 13.30.
We can arrange return taxi’s at times to suit you – this is an extra costs.
Price: £3,100 per person per holiday for this unique trip (this price is for solo occupancy in boutique hotels)
If you bring a partner/friend and share a room there is a discount of £300 per person. Total price £2,800 per person.
This is a small group holidays and this is limited to 10 women.
